Similar to PALS and ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program is 

  a specialized program designed to familiarize MICT's and EMT's 

  with the most current information on neonatal emergencies. Like 

  ACLS and PALS, NRP consists of lecture and practical skills 

  sessions, followed by written and skills testing,  Usually lasting 8 

  hours, NRP specializes in the the care of the newborn, whether 

  premature or full term.  This class emphasizes preparation for 

  possible complications involved with what should be nature's 

  most joyous occasion.

     Some of the techniques utilized in NRP training include the 

  following:

   NRP class ensures MICT'S and EMT's are knowledgeable in the 

  emergency treatment of neonates.  Intensive instruction in neonatal 

  distress allows for immediate recognition of disabilities and rapid 

  treatment to preserve the newest form of life.
